A spiritual growth plan are set of rules, guides, principles which includes a spiritual development plan that enables one grow in God.

For example, I made a decision last year May to commit an hour daily to prayers, the growth i have experienced during this period is not something I can explain.

A spiritual growth plan can also be defined as a disciplinary action that you take just to ensure that your focus is on God.

Remember when you were trying to stop a bad habit in high school and you had inscriptions all over the walls and doors of your dormitory reminding you daily of your commitment to getting rid of that bad habit, that is what a spiritual development plan is.

You won’t get use to it at first, but with time, it becomes a pivotal part of yourl ife such that if you don’t pray or study the word in a day, it feels as though something is missing in your day.

How to create a spiritual growth plan?

You might begin to wonder what importance a spiritual growth/ development plan might be to you, truth is, you can’t tell until you create one and fully commit your time to it.

1. Why do you want a spiritual growth plan

A lot of people are desirous of spiritual growth with reasons peculiar to them, before you create a spiritual growth plan, you must try to discover why you want a spiritual development plan.

Is it because you want to know God more? Or because of some selfish reasons? Whatever your reasons to create a spiritual growth plan might be, the first thing to check out for is if your reasons are God centred.

Every Human however, should have the desire and hunger to know God for themselves and to also grow in the knowledge of him.

Discovering the ‘why’ makes it more easier to stick to the growth plan because there will always be a reason pushing you to stick to the plan.

There are so many questions you might not have answers to in Scripture, building intimacy with God via your spiritual development plan is one of the best ways to get answers.

2. Find out the right time to start

The truth is the right time to start is Now. Now that you have a reason to want to start a spiritual growth plan is the best time to start it.

You do not have to wait for a perfect time.

3. Fix a time

Fixing a time and sticking to it is a part of the disciplinary measures that comes with creating a spiritual growth plan.

Fact is, the whole idea of a spiritual growth plan won’t function without time in view.

Fix a time that is convenient for you and stick to it daily.

4. What will you do with the time you have fixed

If you have gotten to this level, the question you should ask yourself is what you will be doing during the time you have set for spiritual growth.

5. Select what verse to focus on

What portion of the bible will you want to complete in a month? What books will you want to read? How long do you want to read them?.

This are targeted goals youshould adopt when you want to create a spiritual growth plan.

Most importantly, books. They are eye openers especially of it is focused on what you are struggling with.

I can recommend some Christian Authors for you, because there are a lot of writers out there, you have to discern what books to read to avoid being polluted. You should read E.W Kenyon’s, John G. Lake, Joyce Meyers, Kenneth E. Hagin.

8. Join a community of people with similar interest

There are a lot of believers out there with spiritual growth plans, finding them and joining this community can help with your consistency.

Spiritual growth plan requires a whole lot of effort and this includes time, discipline, and consistency. Without this three measures in place, the whole idea of a spiritual growth plan is a story.

9. Realise that growth is a continuous process

Finally on how to create a spiritual growth plan, Growth in God is a a continuous process.

There is no limit to your growth in God, the only limit you have is your mind. There are dimensions and realms in God you do not know of.

I sincerely advise that your spiritual growth plan should be for a lifetime, it should not be time bound.

You do not need to wait for the time alloted to word study and Prayer before you study and pray.

The realm of the Spirit is continuous, it is not time dependent. Do yourself a favour of having a continuous fellowship with God.
