Who am I in Christ? 7 must know truths

Who am I in Christ? I have pondered on this for a very long time. Even as a believer, I suffered from guilt, condemnation and fear which were all a result of my ignorance.

I started the search on my identity in Christ and this pursuit of truth unveiled the victory God had wrought through Christ to me and that is why I have decided to share this post with you today.

knowing who you are in Christ gives you an edge over the wiles of darkness.

Ignorance is how the enemy rules over you, ignorance prevents you from seeing the light.

Light is what makes the enemy flee from you and knowledge is Light..

Having said all that, let’s proceed to the revelation i got from my pursuit of truth.

Who am I in Christ?

Who-am-I-in-Christ

To understand the concept of your identity in Christ, you must first accept him as Lord and Saviour, this is the only condition to the unravelling of your identity.

So, who am i in Christ?

1. I am a new creature

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV

Every man that has confessed Christ as Lord and Saviour is a new creature

who is a new creature?

The word ‘new’ means something that starts to exist afresh, something that is recently created.

Remember when you had to replace your old clothes with new ones? This is similar to what a new creation man is, but it is more advanced.

In the new creation, Your old life is entirely mapped out, removed, and forgotten, you are recreated and giving the privilege to start afresh.

You now have ‘eternal life’ which is the very life of God, can you fathom this?

I am a new creation, I do not look anything like my old life, I look like God, I have his nature in me, I have his life in me, I am living the God life, Hallelujah!

2. I am not a slave to condemnation and guilt

In Christ, condemnation is abolished.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Romans 8:1‭-‬2 KJV

Satan is the author of condemnation. Condemnation says you are unworthy, undeserving, guilty, but Christ was made sin for you on the cross, and he bore our condemnation, guilt, and unworthiness.

Being convicted of sin is different from feeling condemned, while the former brings you to repentance, the latter brings guilt.

The next time you feel guilty or condemned, say this with conviction ‘I can’t be condemned because Christ bore my condemnation, he abolished sin and defeated death’. Hallelujah!

3. In Christ, I do not have sin conciousness

A lot of believers are yet to understand the significance of Christ death.

Jesus did not only die to abolish sin, he died to also remove sin consciousness from you.

The basic reason why sin looks dominant amongst believers is because we do not understand yet that Christ paid for our sin as well as our sin consciousness.

he also gave us Life. Now, believers aren’t focused on this God life, they focus more o the sin Christ paid for.

1 John 3:9

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
1 John 3:9 KJV

That seed that remains in you is the very life of God, it cannot be corrupted.

You are the incorruptible seed of the invisible God.

it’s high time believers become more conscious of the Life of God in them

4. I am a chosen generation

While I was growing up, I have had to question a lot of things and that includes why God created me to be alive at such a time as this.

I wondered why I wasn’t alive in the time and dispensation with great men of old like the Prophet Elijah, Father Abraham, and even King David.

Well, the answer I got is that God chose me In himself before the foundations of the world. And now is the best time to be alive.

Let’s have a look at what scripture says in 1 Peter 2:9

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
1 Peter 2:9 KJV

God through Christ has defeated the devil, you show forth the praises of God by expressing the Life of God in you to creation. Heal the sick, raise the dead, deliver the oppress, set the captives free. This is how to express God in your generation.

The Patriachs of old came at the right dispensation, that was the best time God purposed for them to be alive. We have heard of their great exploit. What will be said of you when time expires.

Royalty runs in your blood. God lives inside of you.

5. We are the visible image of the invisible God

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Genesis 1:27 KJV

We have an invisible God, no one has seen God, but we see the wonders of his Glory.

To say that you are God’s image is to say that I look exactly like God. I have his nature and abilities.

Christ is a perfect example of what the believer is. Christ is the image of the invisible God, whose image you are.

When you look at Christ, you see yourself. You are life, You give life, you experience life.

6. I am the intentional will of God

Yes, you heard that right, your being here is intentional. God is not confused about you, which is why he gave each of us purposes and mandate on the earth.

Your mandate is unique to you, so is mine.

We are all unique and beautifully decorated.

7. In Christ, I am the Light of the world

God is Light, and so Light is what you become when you access and accept Christ. It is expected of us as Light to shine forth.

Finally, Who are you in Christ? I sincerely hope that this article has opened your eyes to the revelational truth that God wrought in and through Christ.
